  • I think Type 2 is typically, but not always, due to being over-weight. If someone with Type 2 loses the weight, they may not have diabetes anymore and their general health will improve. I'd check with your doctor to be sure.

  • I have sjogrens syndrome and one of the main symptoms is a dry mouth and dry eyes. But the frequent urination is a sign of diabetes. Type 1 used to be called "juvenile diabetes" and you always need insulin, Type 2 used to be called "adult onset" and can sometimes be controlled by diet/exercise rather than insulin depending on the severity. They have had to stop using the "juvenile" vs "adult" because even children now are starting to get Type 2, which is generally caused by lifestyle.

  • That was 4 months ago. What type of testing did doc do? You can buy a cheap meter at walmart for under $20. Check your sugar first thing in the morning, 2 hours after eating, or whenever you feel extremely thirsty. It should be around 90 - 120.
