I was wondering what is the best way to potty train a boy.

  • The only real difference between teaching boys and girls is that boys have to be taught to "aim" when peeing.

    Teach him to pee sitting down and to push down on his parts so he is aiming into the potty without actually needing any skill to "aim" accurately. If you teach him to pee standing up, he will need much more eye-hand coordination and you will have pee everywhere.

    Other than that, get a good potty training book or check out BabyCenter.com for ideas. And be sure to wait until he is ready instead of trying to force him to learn by some certain date.

  • well if you want him to stand up and pee try putting cheerios or fruit loops in the toilet and have him "hit" them... but if you want to teach him so he is sitting down to pee which might be easier for him and you get a kid potty that has the little splas guard on it and give him some books to read while he is sitting on it... dont force him... he will get the hang of it!
