  • Yes, I think 10 is too old. My 5 year old is just getting good at bathing himself.

  • Is the child a special needs child? I don't know. Everyone parents differently. I still assist my girls, but not all the time. 7 & 8 they can pretty much do it themselves. 10 does seem too old to get bathed by someone...maybe he needs assistance, but I don't know. It is weird to me.

  • depends on the individual kid i think

  • 10 is not too old to see the kid naked, but the kid should be doing things like showering by himself by 10.

  • way too old unless he has problems

  • 10 year old boys should have some privacy while nude, if they arent special needs. This is the age when, uh, exploration begins.

  • Well, I can remember when my girls were that age that I would have to check to make sure that they actually went in the bathroom and actually took a shower or bath! LOL! But, IMO, yes that would be too old to actually bathe a child. Especially of the opposite sex. I think the girls started doing their own stuff around 6 or 7.

  • I agree, I wouldn't help my kids at that age take a bath unless they needed help with their hair or something.  My 5 year old takes showers by himself.  My 3 year old isn't ready to take that step yet and of course, neither is my 1 year old.

  • Good point, dancininthherain. This isn't about being naked, but about being capable of doing things himself. And obviously, if the child has special needs, what's "typical" doesn't matter.

  • he's just a mammas boy from all she's told me I still love the lady but she said that today and I was a little shocked.
