  • Fever, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, pink eye, lethargic.

Although the school nurse seems to have a different criteria.  I get calls

NURSE: "He's coughing, can you pick him up?"

ME: Does he have a fever?  No? Then I am not picking my son up for a darn cold.

    NURSE "He has a rash."

ME: Yes, I know he has eczema.

NURSE: "I don't think it's eczema, you need to pick him up and he won't be let back into school until he is cleared by a doctor.

DOCTOR: "who the hell is that nurse?  doesn't she KNOW what eczema looks like?"

    Apparently not.

  • Throwing up or a high fever.

Don't even get me started on school nurses. They called me because they said my DD had "pink eye" i said that she was fine when she left the house, but she has been rubbing them because she had allergies. She demanded I come get her because she was contagious. I went to the school (was there in 10 minutes), her eye was clear. I asked to speak to the nurse, who was conveniently unavailable.

  • Vomiting Diarrhea, pink eye or fever over 100 that is with another symptom. There has to be a cough or something with the fever. My kids both are prone to idiopathic low grade fevers.
