2 years ago today Heaven recieved a beautiful Angel......i need good poems please

My beautiful friend Shayla, whom I had known since Elementary school, the bravest person I've have yet to meet, she was 19 years old. She was beautiful, and could make anyones bad day turn into something good. Her laugh could be heard a million miles away, and smile was contagious. She gave that beast called cancer, the biggest fight it's ever seen. sadly, 2 years ago she passed away today, and it's really taking a toll on me. I need some good poems. If you have any feel free to share, so I can share them as well.

thank you.

  • High Flight
O, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
    And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed and joined the tumbling mirth
    Of sun-split clouds-and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of--wheeled and soared
    And swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through the footless halls of air
Up, up, the long, delirious burning blue,
I’ve topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle, flew.
And while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

  • What is Death?
    Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
    that we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
    which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

    Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
    that it always was.
Let it be spoken without affect,
without the trace of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
    There is absolutely unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?

    I am waiting for you,
    for an interval,
    somewhere very near,
    just around the corner.

  • Grief and pain are the price we all have to pay for the love and total commitment we have for another.
The more we love, the more we are hurt when we lose the object of our love........
But if we are to be honest with ourselves, would we have it any other way?
You will not be healed, but..... one day..... this hurt that horrifies you now.....
This intolerable misfortune will become a blessed memory of a being who will never again leave you.
