1 Bump

What do you give your kid if she/ he has not gone in more then 3 days?

My nephew has not gone and is really gas ridden. We tried increasing his fiber and then raisin/ prunes . Nothing so far has worked I do not want to give him anything laxative like but I do not want him to get sick. He is not from America so we have been trying to contract his doctor with no luck. He seems fine but is 5 years old and is walking around passing gas.

What can we do to help him go?

  • I did work at this Nursing home. When the people had this problem we made this pudding. We called it power pudding. We took bran cereal, prunes, honey, apple juice. Put all in a blender and mix until smooth. Dish up about a 1/4 cup. Give three time a day. stop when he is going more. Hope this helped.

  • You should call a Doc's office and see what they recommend!!! Have any one with kids call their doc's office and explain... one of the nurses will help!

  • I'll give my Son orange or apple juice. Either one helps things move along quite nicely, and for me, too. lol.

  • My niece didn't go the first 2 months of her life, the doc recommended Karo syrup. At 5 months she is still using it daily and going fine.

  • I would think about allergies like dairy and ask your pharmacist what they suggest
