What remedies do you use for your teething baby's gums?

My 6 month old is teething and has been so crabby! I've tried everything but nothing gives a long enough relief. Both of us are pulling our hair out! She just wants to be held and nursed 24/7. Please help!!

  • Try baby Orajel sticks for the really grouchy times. That & put teethers in the fridge to get cool and let her gnaw on it.

  • I used to give mine cold teething rings (refrigerated NOT frozen). One thing they really liked was teething biscuits. The local health food store had some really nice, thick teething biscuits. I would freeze them and give them to the boys to chew.

  • I used the teethers and also the teething tablets. I never used baby oragel as I have heard stories about the product and the doctor advised me to not use it.

  • I used the frozen teething toys and I also have an amber teething necklace, but she's such an easy teether I've never had to use it. Other moms swear by the amber necklaces, though, so you might consider that.

  • I use teething ring and Tylenol to help if he is really hurting.

  • I used an ice cube in one of those fruit bag/paci type things you can get at Target. They could "chew" on it and it would sooth them. On the bad nights, I found Motrin worked better than Tylenol. But I generally just held them and nursed.....all day, every day.....until it came through! Hang in there!
