  • Call your pediatrician. Most tend to not offer any over the counter stuff, aside from aceteminafin and ibuprofen. When my kids were that age I used Benedryl at night only. During the day I offered lots of warm liquids - mint tea, chicken soup, and popsicles. Also ran a humidifier in their rooms. I also give them elderberry syrup.

    For a true cold (as opposed to influenza, which my oldest just had) time is the only thing that really works. For coughing I like to put Vicks on the feet and cover with socks. It helps. I even use it for myself, when I have a cough.
