How long does the first herpes outbreak last?

  • It's different for everyone.....many people don't even know they have herpes because they never have outbreaks. It can be present for a week or longer.

I thought I had genital herpes, I had what I thought were outbreaks, but turns out they were yeast infections....when I got pregnant with my daughter I had them add the test for both type 1 and 2 and both came back negative.....but 1 in 4 people have one or the other.

    Good Luck!

  • Herpes can not be cured but there's medicine that can be taken to prevent flare ups. Did a study in my class on it.
