snake or mouse for a pet?

i have had both and i don't like feeding pour mice to snakes. it was my son's and i made him give it away because he didn't want to feed it mice either. i have a mouse that i saved from her mom. the mom ate all but the one i grabbed out. it was a pinky and i fed it with an eyedropper. she is now a big fat beautiful mouse. she is one of my best friends. lol i named her Lucky LuLu

  • I've never had snakes or mice, but I've had rats. Rats are great pets so I assume mice are too, just smaller. lol We did consider getting a snake for a while, but decided to go with birds (we got 3 parakeets the day after Christmas). If you/your son want another snake, you do not have to feed them live mice/rats; you can buy them frozen from some petstores. I don't know of any snakes that don't eat mice/rats/rabbits/some other small animal???

  • I like mice- I had pet mice as a kid. My son keeps asking for a snake, and although I have nothing against snakes I know I would have a very difficult time feeding the snake live food- I like rodents, I consider them pets in their own right!

  • I'd take the snake. There are lots of species that don't require mice.

  • I'd definitely go mouse. They're so cute :) And after all the horror stories about snakes getting out of their cages and strangling kids.. I could never take that chance.. eeks.
