How far along do you have to be before to doctor can see if it's a boy/girl? And how far along do you have to be to tell if it's twins?

  • normally 16wks -20wks but usally they cant tell by 16wks because the genitals are still swollen

  • I think they normally do the ultrasound for gender around 18-20 weeks, but they can sometimes tell about twins right away...and that doesn't always have to be through ultrasound, sometimes they can tell from the doppler if they hear two heartbeats. Good luck!

  • I found out that I was having a boy at 16 weeks. They were able to be pretty sure at that point. I am not sure about the twins though. I have heard stories about the doctors not knowing until delivery.

  • I found out that my first was a boy @ 18 weeks...but it's anywhere between 16-20 weeks...also depends if the baby is being shy and crossing legs...she had to move my belly around a little to try to get him moving to uncross his worked and she was right...he is definately ALL BOY !!!
