to report or not

ok so my sis after such a war finally had her long term disability approved but she now lives in housing and her medical bills because she lost her healthplan due to not being able to work and having to live in public housing had racked up she is considering not reporting the recent income and paying off her racked up medical bills that is up in the thousands .She just got approved medical assistance but alot of her treatments and medicine is not covered .Its not right to scam the system i am the first to say let those tax dollars go to those in need but in her case being a single mom with no help from the father and having her credit ruined ,forclosing her home ,and almost living in the hospital how can find it to say that in this case

  • if she is getting it from a company w/ a paycheck like a prev poster says then yes, they will catch her eventually and it will put her in alot of trouble. its a bad situation and aweful tempting because she may be a little desperate but it could just make things a hell of alot worse for her if she commits fraud.

  • If her recent income is through a company with an official paycheck and everything, chances are the government already has record of it somewhere. It could come back to bite her in the butt if she doesn't report it.

  • She needs to report it. Her situation is terrible, but if she gets caught later down the road it's only going to be worse for her.
