Does anyone know how long an LH surge can last?

I was supposed to start my OPK yesterday but did not realize that I was out until very late. I tested today and no surge, Could I have missed it?

  • Your LP is normally 14 days. But some women have short LP. Mine is 9 - 11 days. Shorter in the winter with less daylight.

  • It typically last 24-48 hours. Even if you missed the surge that doesn't mean you missed ovulation.

Ovulation occurs 12-36 hours after the peek of the surge.

Charting is much more accurate and cheaper.

And I have NO IDEA why PP was talking about LP when you asked a question about a hormone surge.

  • Sorry, my bad. I read it as LP and not LH.
