Is anyone a realtor? I have a question. A few questions, actually.

What all can you find out about a house for your client? Can you find out what the seller owes? If it is a pre-forclosure? Tax info, like if they are behind?

  • I am not a realtor, but I do work in a real estate appraiser's office. Depending on the town/city there is various information you can find online. You can get the tax assessor's card (sometimes called a field card) either online or at least at the town hall. We are also able to see Mortgage information for most properties. THis will only tell us how much they borrowered, but not if they are up-to date or not. If the property is a short-sale the listing agent should have posted that information for other realtors to see (a short sale is when the owners want to sell the property for less than they owe - which requires their current bank's approval). Also deeds are considered public information - though you may have to travel to get those. Hope this was helpful :)
