  • US events that stick out ... can tell you what I was doing:

OKC bombing ... was having lunch with my hubby, Chinese buffet to be exact.

9/11 ... my sister woke me up calling me telling me to turn the TV on. It was so odd to sit outside and not see any planes and we lived within a mile of our local airport.

There have been other important events such as Hurricane Hugo coming ashore and coming up through the middle of SC into NC. It hit our home town in middle NC on our 4th wedding anniversary.

  • I remember the Tet Offensive, the evacuation of Saigon, the Watergate hearings, the Mason murders, the attempt on Ford's life, the attempt on Reagan's life, the Iranian Hostage Crisis, the Challenger, the Columbia, the 1st bombing of the World Trade Center, The Murrow Building bombing, Wounded Knee stand-off 1973, Ohio State massacre, want me to pick just one. I'll go with the birth of Christ.

  • The May 3rd, 1999 tornado that destroyed my hometown and almost took the house I grew up in in Moore, OK. I'll never forget walking through my neighborhood after it happened, I was 15. It looked like a war zone, I was stepping over debris, mud and pieces of people's lives. I saw things that a 15 year old, or anyone for that matter shouldn't have seen. It forever changed my life and made me realize that life is a precious thing and to cherish every minute with your loved ones.
