My 9 y/o girl is almost a half foot taller than my 10 y/o girl. Should I be worried?

I'm just wondering if my 10 y/o has stopped growing. My girls are 9.75 months apart. We have very tall people in our families as well as very short people in our families. I don't know but my 10 y/o has some learning disabilities as well I don't know if they could be related. Maybe someone has a similar situation. Or maybe she is perfectly healthy. Just a little worried.

  • no u should not be worried about the height. it happens all the time. i have twins in my family who are identical except for the fact that 1 is a lot taller than the other. they are both teen boys.

  • I would not be worried, because there are people of different heights in the family, but just to be sure, both girls should have a regular check up at the doctor.

  • No I wouldn't be worried. Kids go through growth spurts at different times. My 18 month old is almost as tall as he's 3 year old sister. He's very tall for his age.

  • Nope wouldnt be worried. My oldest dd is pretty short, she stopped growing mostly around 13-14 yrs old. Your daughter will have more growth spurts. Genetics are just the way they are is all. My 17 yr old is almost 6 ft tall and all of us are short. Should I worry? Same difference.
