Help! What do I do with this?

Dh grew and just gave me a ton of red onions. He's never grown them before and he tells me his parents just ate off the white part and left the rest. That seems like such a waste.

Can you eat the rest of the plant? I'm thinking it might be good in a salad. (I admit I ate a part of the red, it was really good.)

Does anyone know?

  • Check out gardenning sites... I know I use "Dave's Garden" a lot.... from seed swapping, to learning stuff, to simply seeing what others are doing... I would look it up online (which is free) before eating anything... some plants have parts that can make you really sick
