WYR have a cow or a donkey?

I'm not a farm girl at all, but I'm always thinking of having a cow or a donkey.
A cow would be cool bc of the milk, but I would love to do the grocery shopping with my donkey and have him carry it all home in two big baskets. lol
They even have names: The cow is called Maddy, the donkey Doo-Doo.

  • I think both are cute, but I think a cow is more economical because of all the milk. My family used to have their own cow years ago before I was born. They used it for milk only and as a pet. We live around cows by the hundreds. I love driving past them and watching them. Wish I had a cow :-(

  • Hmm ... you asked cow, but I'll assume you mean bovine (cow = bovine that has had at least 1 calf). Where I'm at now, I'd get a Dexter, a mini-bovine that is just the right size for the land I have and my family size.

  • LOL...I actually have a cow, we named him Supper. Sorry if that offends anyone. We will be butchering him in about a month or so. He's male so he doesn't produce milk.

  • Cow. I lived on a farm when I was young and I've always loved cows. Donkeys are stubborn, it's hard to make them do anything.
