Breast milk in my armpits?

I was talking to a friend of mine and I told her that I had breast milk all the way into my armpits and it hurt. THe lumps hurt. Did anybody else experience this? I thought it was normal. ???

  • Yes, there are often milk ducts that are as far as your armpits.

  • There are times when my kids fed or if i'm engorged it feels like one of the muscles from under my arms is being pulled/tugged at. I'm not sure if you get breastmilk in your armpits You'd have to look at some medical pictures of where the milk flows from to find out.

  • Make sure you don't have an infection in your lymphnodes.. cause that would cause under arm pain and swelling..

  • Many women have milk ducts that go into their arm pits, but I don't ever remember feeling them full while nursing or engorged, but it certainly is possible. My only worry is that if you are that full and they hurt a lot you may have a clogged duct.

  • little one seemed to be hungry all the time. Seemed like they both ate 24/7. Ouch! I would go see what the doctor has to say.
