  • It only irritates me if they use it improperly. A lot of people will use don't instead of doesn't. Such as:
He don't know shit. It's supposed to be "He doesn't know shit. Otherwise I have no problem with it. Contractions such as "ain't" piss me off because they aren't correct either.

  • I can't recall it ever bothering me. But I suppose it would depend on the context.

  • It ruins my whole day. Sometimes I can eat because of it. I have terrible nightmares over it...don't=do not..ahhh..

well okay not really. i dont even think about it much...rather have them make a slight mistake rather than talk like a "uneducated" person and purposely mispell everything and talk like an lolcat alllll the time.

  • My pet peeve is when ppl say I don't like none of that, I don't know nothing etc. Two negatives? I hate that!

  • Hehe I hate double negatives as well. Like: I ain't going nowhere. Should be "I'm not going anywhere" Then again I'm an English major and shit like this pisses me off. I'm not going to say that I'm the best writer - I make mistakes. What I can't stand is text speak and people speaking ghetto slang. I'm from Brooklyn, I have a horrible Brooklyn accent but I try to be articulate. You say "New York" and "Water". I say New Yawk and wawda. LOL.

  • Don't in proper context is perfectly acceptable to me. Don't substituting for doesn't bothers me relentlessly. However, my biggest one is am and are. When those are misused I will undoubtedly call someone on it, and I actually hate that I do it, but I can't help it.
