if you are catholic is it ok to have one person from each side of the family be choosen as a godparent for my child? ex: one from my side and one from my husbands side?

  • As long as they are both Catholic, anything is fine. My dd's godparents are one friend of mine and one of dh's old friends. My friend's dh isn't Catholic, so we picked someone else.

  • You only need one to be Catholic. The other can be a Christian witness.

  • You can pick whom ever you like, only one needs to be Catholic. My youngest daugher doesn't have a Godfather, only a Godmother.
