How much does it cost

at jackson Hewitt to file taxes? Is it a similar price range to H&R Block?

  • It depends on what form you file, but generally they are pretty comparable.

  • we filed online through h&rblock we did the basic file and cost us about $60.... dh said we will be doing that from here on out.

  • It also depends on your local agents. We have ours filed with H&R and pay $173 . If we went to the next county over, we would pay $257 for the exact same service. I don't know what the other companies charge, we've used H&R since we started filing.

  • Go to their website. I'm sure it depends on the extent of what you're filing, because some take longer then others.

  • I heard a commercial they were at Walmart and charging $38.

  • H&R Block is expensive. We stopped going. I use turbo tax and file ours myself.

  • I use, and have for several years. Depending on your income, you may qualify for free tax preparation from the IRS; contact your local office
