first postpartum period

My son is 11 months old and just got my first postpartum period. (Thanks breastfeeding :) ) I was wondering how fertile are you the first cycle?

  • My husband and I are etc again we had sex the day before and the day after o we couldn't on day of so im hoping that maybe just maybe I was extra fertile. Since it took a year to conceive my son I don't want it to take that long this time

  • You're no more or less likely to get pregnant during any particular cycle. The chances are always 25-33%, assuming the timing is right. The reason people say you're "more fertile" is because a lot of women don't realize they're fertile at all, and then surprise! they're pregnant. Given when you had sex, you have about as good a chance as possible that you're pregnant, but no more than usual.

  • I just had a baby in november and my angel died in december. I hope im very fertile as well because we really really want another baby

  • I heard that your VERY fertile after you give birth, but i'm not sure about that.

    There are ways to increase your fertility though, do simple things like change your diet a little.

    Drinking more herbal teas (preferably green, orange, or black) have been proven to help increase fertility.

    Also, switching from white bread to whole grain can work wonders. Other than that, you can pin point your most fertile days using this ovulation calculator:

  • No more than normal.

    That being said I got pregnant first try after my 1st post partum period at 16 months post partum. I sadly miscarried that baby.

    I got pregnant the 4th cycle after my periods returned at 14 months post partum from my first birth.
