What side dishes to serve with a roast turkey?

I'm making a roast turkey and I don't want it to be like a holiday meal.

  • I like to put carrots, onions, and red potatoes around a turkey while it roasts. Branches of rosemary, and some broth in there, and it makes a delicious meal.

Or you could serve it with a nice rice pilaf, some asparagus or another vegetable, and a nice bread with it.

  • We had a couple turkey dinners the past few months where I only served the basic sides with the turkey instead of going all out. We just had potatoes, stuffing, gravy, yams, and rolls.
