The people of California should be proud, don't you think?

  • What an idiot.

Way to exploit the struggles of the Egyptian people for political gain.

  • LOL, they got what they voted for. Too bad for all of those that didn't vote for him though.

  • I have little sympathy for CA. They got exactly what they asked for. How can I be empathetic to anyone who gets what they ask for?

  • Ditto Jewjew. Funny though how his quote seems to be saying California needs to listen to the people and then at the same time wanting to bash Republicans for not wanting to raise taxes. I believe it was the citizens who recently voted NO on raising taxes. To bad it was those same people who voted that idiot back in. Maybe Californians will really never learn

  • “When democratic ideals and calls for the right to vote are stirring the imagination of young people in Egypt and Tunisia and other parts of the world, we in California can’t say now is the time to block a vote of the people,” Brown.

He said the budget has tough choices but that the people “have a right to vote” on the package.

...But this time things are different. In fact, the people are telling us -- in their own way -- they sense something is profoundly wrong. They see that their leaders are divided when they should be decisive and acting with clear purpose.

He says we have a right to speak out, a right to vote.... unlike those in Egypt.  Here, we expect our leaders to listen and act.

  • Poor timing to compare us to Egypt? Maybe, but truth is.... he points out the obvious. We are not an opressed nation, we speak out, we vote, we're a democracy.  I woke up grateful I live in here and not in Egypt or Israel!
