toddler (3.5 yrs old) learning computer games..any good ones

this compouter is S..L..O..W
so any great learning computer games
that maybe do not have huge load time would be bonus

daughter three and a half, is really picking up on library games, the mouse (we call click mouse-or she looks for a mouse-lol) the ones i have tryed at home (dors-nick jr, take long time to load-good lesson in waiting-but less loading would be good-she is using arrow buttons and space bar)

anyone use computer games for their three yr old?

she has autism- so the graphics are great for her-lots of interest, would like to use this media in the best way for her, learning colors, numbers, letters etc

any links to great sites? any ideas, things to avoid

thanks moms!

  • Caillou 5-in-one games were my son's favorite. It worked just fine on an old dinosaur of a computer too (256 Ram). It teaches colors, shapes, numbers, and even has printable coloring pages. We got ours at Target for about $10.

  • It sounds like you need more RAM. It's probably not got enough to load quickly. It's not real expensive.

  • Have you looked at the games on Is the problem your computer, or your browser version, or your internet connection?

  • nick jr is the only one i have tryed on home computer
    load time is very long
switching between games takes a very long time
maybe all will be like this
maybe i should be looking for discs to use instead
    this computer kind of sucks
example, on cafemom, some boxes are just not there..the answer button is just white space, if i had not been on here before on good computer i would not know where to click to anser.. the spell check is gone and does not work when i click on white sopace where i should be etc etc etc

library is great, but can not go there all the time
would be nice to have her use computer at home

  • you could always get the leapfrog or vtech games. vtech has like a video game system for the tv that teaches them stuff and leapfrog has a lot of hand held devices.

  • had a vtech
most everything still at 'his' house
had to leave with close to nothing- long story
but she does not want for anything
