  • No concerns at all - Folic acid in early pregnancy is shown to help prevent neural tube defects (Spina Bifida, for example.) Congratulations!!

  • Nope, no concerns, sometimes a prenatal is enough, some doctors just also prescribe it on it's own as well.

  • Folic acid is essential to proper growth and developement of the baby. It will not hurt you or the baby. All women TTC should be taking folic acid daily.

  • Folic Acid will help the development of your baby, as well as keep your iron levels up so you or the baby do not become anemic. You should take it every day. Sometimes folic acid can make you feel nausea or add to it. If that happens just take the vitamin at night before bed.
