Is it safe to put bleach water in a Hoover Steam Vac?

Not with the cleaning solution, but just a bleach water mixture to clean floors?

Then to switch back to the cleaning solution in water to go over the floors again?

Seems to me like it might not be and like it would cause the two chemicals to mix and I have no clue what they would do mixed together. This is my SO's idea, lol.... I told him it doesn't sound too good to me. But I figured I would ask opinions.

  • I don't think it's safe, but I don't think bleach is safe at all. If you need to spot treat your floor, try peroxide.

  • It will deteriorate your vac. Since steam is naturally sanitizing, there is no reason.

  • Well I thought the point of a steam vac is to not to have to use cemicals since the steam santizes the floor without them. Mine said not to put any chemicals in it
