If it's really windy outside is it ok to build a fire in the fire place??

I want to build a fire because there is a chill in the air, but I wasn't sure if it was ok since the wind is pretty ferce outside. We are having 35-40 mph gusts with a potental for 50 mph gusts. I know that wind helps the smoke pull from the chimney, but wasn't sure about extreme wind.

  • Wind can also force it back down, so I'd say it's a bad choice tonight.
