The day of your funeral.....

Not to be so morbid so early in the morning....BUT!

At your funeral, as sad of a day it is going to be for all of us.........what type of music do you want them to play?

I want the sad music first, and then songs that are upbeat and a few of my favorites and fun songs to get the party started, AFTER....where ever friends/family go. Thats how I am...not to be all sad for hours after....liven it up a bit and have fun laughing and remembering my funny ways....etc., as if I was still there.

Though I do want bagpipers to play Amazing Grace at my funeral, should I be buried or not. OR...the music of them playing it. It's my fave and makes me cry every time and means the most to me.

  • I like the song "On Eagle's Wings"

    On Eagles' Wings
    (Michael Joncas)

    You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord,
    Who abide in His shadow for life,
    Say to the Lord: "My refuge,
    My rock in whom I trust!"

    Chos: And he will raise you up on eagle's wings,
    Bear you on the breath of dawn,
    Make you to shine like the sun,
    And hold you in the palm of His hand.

    The snare of the fowler will never capture you,
    And famine will bring you no fear:
    Under His wings your refuge,
    His faithfulness your shield.

    You need not fear the terror of the night,
    Nor the arrow that flies by day;
    Though thousands fall about you,
    Near you it shall not come.

    For to His angels He's given a command
    To guard you in all of your ways;
    Upon their hands they will bear you up,
    Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

  • I don't even want to think about it. I guess I want my loved ones to pick whatever music i going to comfort them the best because in reality, I won't be "here" anymore and it will be all for them.

  • i don't want to think about it, if i died in my sleep i wouldn't know about it, if i died some other way, probably wouldn't remember how it happened. So where I get buried or how my funeral turns out is not going to be up to me anyways.

  • I don't know that I want a funeral. On Eagle's Wings *is* a great song, though. And I do like Amazing Grace, though can I have bagpipes if I'm not Irish?

    I'd like to pick out something that would promote good feelings of the life I had and encourage people to have fun remembering me.

  • In Judaism there is no music. It would be weird to have music.

  • I would like Amazing Grace and the 70's song Spirit in the Sky. After that, I want happy music and a lot of laughing.
