I know you should not put pubic hair in someone's sandwich - but is 15 days in jail a fair punishment - would it be very different if the comsumer wasnt a cop??

EVESHAM, N.J.: A former cook at a New Jersey restaurant is getting 15 days in jail for adding an unwelcome ingredient to a police officer's bagel sandwich.

Twenty-seven-year-old Ryan Burke admitted putting his own pubic and chest hairs in the sandwich in February 2010. He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and retaliation for a past official action.

The Courier-Post of Cherry Hill reports a judge sentenced Burke last week to 15 days in prison, to be served on weekends. He's also ordered to serve two years of probation.

Authorities say the Evesham police officer had previously stopped Burke for a traffic violation.

  • According to the article it was a little more than just putting a hair in a sandwich...he did it for revenge. IMO this jerk deserves a few days in the slammer...or better yet a pube hair sandwich from the officer. This was a really nasty thing to do. I don't feel sorry for him.

  • yeah if it had been a normal Joe Customer, at worst he'd have been fired or something. Jail time...no... cuz that stuff happens all the time in those types of places and nothing ever happens.

  • I think that he SHOULD get jail time. I think anyone who does something like that should be punished. 15 days is not that much. Think about how long we ground our kids for things they do. This is an adult.....who did something unsanitary, and extremely disgusting.

  • uh, that's fricken disgusting. Ya, reminds me of the movie "Wating", lol. But, yes, this guy deserves jail time and to lose his job. And if it were a regular citizen and not a cop, then i hope the person would press charges and the cook would still get the same punsihment. What the cook did was wrong..on many levels. Yuk!

  • Only 15 days?? Police Officer, or an Ex, or a lousy tipper, doesn't matter WHO it was, it should not have happened and 15 days is just a slap on the wrist.
