What does station -1 mean?

Does it mean that I'm close to delivery?

  • I believe that when you are still in the "-" stations...the baby is not yet far enough down to deliver. What you want to hear is a +1 station. That means that the babies head is engaged in your pelvis and on it's way to delivery. Good luck!

  • it's talking about how far down the head is getting... you can look up on the net and it can show you drawing pictures to get a better idea.

  • Not necessarily. -1 station is still floating and the baby can still move up and down. I was -1 station 3 weeks ago and have been dialating, but I still haven't gone into labor.
