I need baking advice

I need to make some cupcakes, can I use regular yellow cake mix and add melted butterscotch bits to it and it will taste like butterscotch cupcakes?

  • no..it will most likely taste like regular yellow cake, with butterscotch chips here and there. melted, its not going to 'mix' with the cake mix. but hey! you can give it a go! either way, its still a cupcake!

  • blend the melted butterscotch chips into the batter, and i think it will work perfectly! (add a few chocolate chips on top half way through baking, and ummmmm, yum!)

  • I would not melt them either. Too easy for the mix to 'break' and separate. Just fill the muffin cups with yellow cake mix and drop 6-8 chips on the top. then bake

  • I wouldn't melt them, leave them whole. You will get the same flavor, maybe even better; if you melt them, the flavor can get a bit diluted.

  • Why not google "butterscotch cupcakes"?

  • I would check the cake mix website and might give you info if can do or not. I would add the chips whole and then let them melt when baking.
