Is it a sucker or a lollypop?

I just realized today when the bank teller offered my 2 yr old a lollipop and was shown a small round candy on the stick that what I call a sucker is now considered a lollipop. Growing up a lollipop was one of those big rainbow flat circles and all other candies ona stick were suckers.
Are they all the same to you?

  • I was born and raised in Nj and to us (my family and friends not sure about everyone else) we called them taffies or lollipops.

I live in SC now and since having kids, I have learned that no matter what is is, if it has a stick in it (candy wise) it's a sucker. I confused the crap out of the bank teller one day when i asked her if they had any taffies for my little one (this was about 6 years ago) I had no idea they were called something else LOL
