How often do you make turkey?

I've got one roasting in the oven right now, and it smells good! I bought this one when they were cheap right before Christmas, but even at regular price, when you figure how many meals you can get out of it, it's still reasonable.

  • I have 2 in the freezer that I bought when they were cheap and plan to cook 1 next week.

  • Only at Thanksgiving. I find turkey too gamey.

  • Once or twice a year. I just do not have the room.

  • Only on holidays I get to stay home - I cooked one for Christmas, but it had been about 5 years since I had cooked one before that.

  • Depends how many I get for cheap around Thanksgiving, and how much freezer space I have ;). Sometimes I only make 1 a year, sometimes I'll make 6 a year. I have 1 lonely bird waiting right now, but it's small so we will probably only get 2 meals from it, plus a little extra.

  • If you're talking about Whole Turkey, only at Thanksgiving. It's just too much food for my family. I do enjoy turkey and will buy small turkey breasts throughout the year (maybe 5 or 6 times a year). Even then we always have leftovers.
