How do you sort laundry?

I sort by making a different pile per person in the house. So from each basket I have 5 piles of clothes plus a pile of socks and a pile of undies. From there I hang up or fold as necessary then match socks etc.

I'm staring at a mountain of clean clothes and decided to procrastinate putting it away by asking this question =D

  • I was the whites separately. My kids separately, towels by themselves, my clothes together.

  • I don't really serperate anything. Sometimes I will do whites differently but that is it, The only other thing I wash by itself is bedding, Everything else gets thrown into the laundry room and then I wash it and fold it into basket for each person to put away.

  • I wash my clothes separately from my daughter's, and my husband does his own. With my stuff I sort between "lights" (which includes towels and such) and "darks" which is most of the stuff I wear. I usually do three loads of darks for every load of lights.
