Does anyone have ADD or ADHD?

How old were you when it was figured out? Did anyone only start experiencing symptoms after reaching adulthood?

  • ADD, I didn't realize it until I was working in the mental health field and one of the psychologist I worked with said something to me about it. It was basically an offhand comment "you don't know, do you? You have ADD."
I've been this way all of my life, but was able to find ways to function. I was always frustrated by myself and how I couldn't seem to control certain things. The doc saying something was a relief. I still try to use my coping skills and try to overcome a lot of it, but at least I know that there is a reason why I am the way I am.

  • I have adhd. I've had it my entire life. I'm not on any meds though because my insurance won't pay for it.
