Birthday party etiquette question :)

So I got invited to a 2 year old birthday party...My daughter doesn't know the kid and I know the father somewhat...they are having the party on super bowl sunday and Im wondering...since we were invited is it proper etiquette to get them a gift even if we don't go??? This hasn't happened to us yet with someone that we aren't that close with....thanks :)

  • I agree, I would not get the child anything. First off, the child will never know who was there or who wasn't. However, if you do feel bad, get the child something small. Odds are the kid will get lots of gits no matter what you do.

  • At that age I think other two year olds are cute accessories to a kid's party for the photos. I think if you don't go you can skip the present.
