Do you allow your child to drink any juice?

I took my child to a new ped and she said she would recommend not giving my child any juice at all, only milk and water. She said they have too much sugar. (I know that they do but I limit her to once glass a day)

  • Yeah, my son drinks juice. I honestly don't see the big deal. I drank juice growing up, I was still active and NEVER had a weight problem. I guess the way I see it, kids can have a lot of things in moderation. McDonalds, cool, once in awhile, juice? Absolutely!!

  • I do that as well, I have never stopped watering down her juice. She doesn't ask for it often but I feel like if she wants to have 1-2 cups that are mostly water, than it's better than a lot of things she could be having.

  • No, my kids don't drink any juice.

They have on occasion, like a special party or something.

But it's too unhealthy for other times.

  • my daughter doesnt drink any juice. She has before but its extremely rare. We dont buy juice she drinks water. And doesnt like milk. She has water alllllllllllllll day long. Juice is too sugary and not even real. I do plan on getting a juicer and making real juice though

  • Depends on what kind of juice you're buying. I always try and go for the 100%, so it's just liquid fruit. Often I add some carrot or red beet juice I made myself. Sort of the only way I can get her to have vegetables. :-)
