Would you be lost without your microwave?

I just asked a question about cooking potatoes in a microwave. It got me to thinking how many would be lost without a microwave. Would you? I prefer my oven, crock pot, grill, and cooking over an open flame (camp fire). We mainly use our microwave to reheat things.

  • I lived without one for many years, so I wouldn't be lost, but it sure is a convenience for heating up leftovers, steaming veggies, making a cup of tea, that I would miss.

  • not really. it's my last choice for cooking anything. I like more tradition forms of cooking like stove, oven, and crock pot.

  • In your last question I said I only use mine as a bread box. It's true. We don't even use it for reheating anything.

  • Not at all, anything that I do put in the microwave can be cooked or heated on the cooktop or in the oven.
