what do you keep your A/C on?

my husband is already wanting to keep it at 72 and we havent even hit summer yet! i keep telling him that its too cold for the kids especially at night, sometimes they wake up earlier than normal and i think its because theyre cold. even after dressing them in warm jammies it doesnt help because they kick their blankets off.

ideally, id like to keep it between 74-76. but its "too hot" for him. and then he complains when the bill is so freakin high and blames it on little things like leaving nightlights on all night and stuff!

  • About 74. I just like the humidity to be out of the house, I can't stand it when it's cold!

  • I'd prefer to keep the heat at 66 in the winter. In the summer we keep the ac at 76

  • @older, we live in Tampa! i cant imagine what hes going to want to keep it on when our Florida summer arrives, if hes already wanting it at 72 now when winter isnt even officially over yet!

  • It is currently between 30 and 34 degrees outside and our streets are covered in ice. (it melts. it freezes, it melts, it freezes.) My heat is set at 68-69. You do whatever you want. Thanks for the laugh!

  • AC?! I'm laughing too because we're in the middle of a dead snow-filled winter, not anywhere near thinking about AC! Anyway, in the summer, when it's hot and/or really humid, we set it around 76. Any cooler and it gets chilly, and our bill goes sky-high. Right now our furnace is at 68 because our temps are hovering around 10 degrees, but the wind chill makes it feel like -20!

  • well, im glad those of you in the middle of the winter blast got a good laugh out of it. but, i was talking about when you use your a/c (obviously not in the wintertime) what you prefer your a/c to be at.
