Do you make your own hand sanitizer?

I mix 1/4 cup of aloe vera gel with 1/4 cup vodka (rubbing alcohol will do if you use it). I combine those with 1 tsp. tea tree oil and several drops of a favorite essential oil (for fragrance). I put the mixture in travel size squirt or spray bottles.

  • I want to try this when I get a few more essential oils! I had wondered how to make it, but I always forget to try to look up recipes.

  • Nice recipe, I wish I could use sanitizer (alcohol dries my skin too much).

  • That's why I don't use rubbing alcohol. But you could also not use the vodka and just use a combination of tea tree, thyme, and lavendar oils...There are several essential oils with antimicrobial properties.
