Gender

In your opinion, why are there only two genders (male & female) accepted in American society?

For clarification purposes, sex is about the physical differences between the two different sexes. Gender is the attributes associated with being male and female, i.e. what it means to be feminine and masculine.

  • Why Bridget? There are only 2 sexes but there can be numerous genders. Many other 'inferior' societies embrace multiple genders.

  • Ok, I guess my idea is over your heads. You cannot just look at the dictionary definition in regards to this. You have to look at the sociological and psychological view on this.

  • But Glitter that is sex. Sex is whether someone has a penis or vagina. Gender is not. Gender is what we consider to be feminine and masculine.
