What could this possibly be?

Today my son kept putting his hands down his pants and saying ow ow, So I took his pants off and when I did this I noticed the head of his penis was blue and when I tried to look at it to maybe see what was wrong my son started going ow ow and cried. This has never happened before and I'm not sure what this could be from he doesn't seem to have any problems peeing and there is no odour. Could any one tell me what this might be?

  • Maybe a hair wrapped around his penis somewhere? I'd suggest contacting his doctor just to be on the safe side too.

  • Is he circumsized? If not, the foreskin might be affecting circulation. Please consult his pedi, as issues with the genitals can be serious. GL!

  • Same thing happened to my son quite a while ago - before he could really talk, so he didn't say anything. He had a check up the next day or the same day (can't remember now) so we asked. He said it was just bad circulation. Like how your feet fall asleep, you know? It's never happened again. So the other ladies are right... could be a hair wrapped around, or might've just been... squished up funny or something.
If it doesn't go away, don't hesitate to see the doc.
