Nail Polish

When I had acrylic nails, my nail polish never came off. I can't afford and don't have time to do that anymore, so I occasionally paint my natural nails to feel more feminine. I only do it occasionally because it chips off within 24 hours. It makes me soooo mad, so I feel like it isn't worth doing. How do I get it to stop chipping off so fast?

  • you're spoiled to the artificial nail-benefits!! nothing will please you with the natural nail (as far as strength or no-chipping polish goes).

if you stay out of water, don't do much with your hands/fingers, your natural-nail-polish may last longer than otherwise, but if it lasts a week without chipping, praise God! its not likely to last that long. you may have oily nail beds, be using inferior nail products, or just too rough on your hands/nails. ever wonder why your toes stay polished longer? its because they are protected, where our fingers aren't. :))

  • Trim nails and cuticles. Buff ridges. Base coat, color, top coat.

  • Always use base coat and top coat.  I use Sally Hansen Insti Dri top coat, it dries in 30 seconds.  I apply a coat once (sometimes twice) a day.  It refreshens the shine and prevents chipping for up to a week.

  • I only use O.P.I polish...it is a bit more expensive, but it won't flake off and it lasts a long time...also after you paint with the polish add a top coat of clear!
