When do girls usually get their first cycles?

My daughter is 12 and has had pains and discomfort for about a year now. She developed a year or so ago but no cycle? I'm wondering now if these pains may be related to something else? Maybe i should take her to the dr? Not quiet sure what a typical age is though?

  • 8-15 is considered normal. The pains could be ovulation-though not sure why its been a year and no cycle...maybe a trip to the dr. would be good, just to rule out other things.

  • Sometimes pain and discomfort are non-threatening cysts. Check it out.
