  • Maybe, maybe not. It takes 2 weeks for your body to build up antibodies. I would recommend getting it now. If the flu hasn't hit your area, you could be covered by the time it does show up. It's a small gamble, but a worthwhile one.

  • In response to Anonymous, I used to bypass the flu shot, feeling it was perhaps not necessary. I totally changed my mind after I had THE FLU. Many people loosely apply "flu" to various viral illnesses. I had INFLUENZA which is the only virus that can correctly be called "flu". I was sick for a week, missed work the entire week, and didn't feel myself for another month. People sometimes die of influenza. I have gotten a flu shot every year since that time.
