Who has mastered the mommy mommy tune out?

Have you mastered tuning out mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy.......? Well I recently went home and several times my kids would be calling me and I had them totally tuned out. And my sisters would be like "Stacy you don't hear them calling you?" LOL. And I let them know I have four kids and I know when to tune them in or out. Honestly I didn't hear them because I know how to distinguish between when they need me or don't need me. Who else has mastered this essential tool of mothering? :-)

  • Oh yeah. I would be either completely crazy or a drunk if I hadn't mastered it. :)

  • I can't tune it out! She says it over and over, and I ask her what - she doesn't respond. Finally I say, "Taylee, Taylee, Taylee, Taylee, Taylee, Taylee, Taylee, Taylee" (talking over her as I go). When I stop I tell her, "See, it is rude. You only have to say my name once."

  • Oh I could tune them out easily. When they would come to me, they would just look at me as if I were stupid and deaf lol. I would tell them that yelling my name over and over is rude and I dont' pay attention to rude behavior and if they needed me, they could be polite about it

  • Does anyone watch The Big Bang Theory? I love when Sheldon knocks on the girlfriend's door, Penny, Penny, Penny. It reminds me a a little kid saying mommy, mommy, mommy.

  • I don't ever tune out my kids, because they wouldn't ask for you if they didn't want your company or input.
