  • Every day! We are unschoolers so every day is both a school day and non-school day. We just don't distinguish between learning and living.

  • Only if she's sick or if both my husband and I are sick.

  • My mom would give me a "mental health day" when I could call in sick when I really wasn't as long as I didn't have something important that day I was trying to get out of. I can't say that I really used it often.

  • when they have a doctors appt. It takes us about an 45 mins to an hour to get to any of our doctors so they are usually in the morning and so then we are done we go to breakfast and then depending how late it is I will take them to school or just let them miss the day. It does not happen often.

  • Only if they are sick. In general, my kids don't ask to skip school. They love their school. Then again, they compete against each other for perfect attendance. Love my little freaks.

  • Nope. Only if they are sick (vomit, diarrhea, fever.) We take pride in perfect attendance.

  • not old enough yet but when i was in school my mom let me every so often, usually as long as it wasnt for an irresponsible reason like not doing a project on time. from around middle school up i hated shcool with a passion. i read every book i could get my hands on but i hated the way kids spent their time on drama and girls on thier makeup and everyone was into drugs and the teachers were glorified babysitters with 26 or more kids per class so all they could do was give our millions of assignments to try to keep kids busy.... i was miserable until the day i graduated lol. she understood that it wasnt just that i didnt feel like going so she was a little lenient. once i got into college i couldnt have been happier.

  • LOL - we homeschool so my kids don't get to call in. But, we do take every Friday off so my kids get a free day every week. However, we do work year round, so it all works out in the end.
