How much for allowance should a 9yo get?

Hubby and I were thinking $50 a month and she would be required to put half in her bank account.

  • SummerBear that is a tad steep but hey if that is what you want to give she is your child as for my kids 7 & 9 I just throw in whatever under $20.00 and some change but in the end I guess it will add up to $ Eventually our kids will learn the true value of money one day soon. GL

  • We give our 9 year old $4/week - $2 to spend and $2 to put in her savings account at the credit union. She has specific chores she has to do to earn it (laundry, sweeping the kitchen 2 nights/week, vacuuming and dusting her room, etc.)
